I’ve always had a deep passion for fashion. The synergy between the design, the styling, and the ultimate wearability is utterly pleasing to me. Shoes, being one of my favorite accessories because it gives the outfit more meaning and sets off a much better can have four main factors that matter: cost, comfort, quality, and variety. Thankfully, Steve Madden meets these expectations with no struggles. On the contrary, Isabel Marant, another well-known shoe brand, is quite expensive and unappealing.
Steve Madden Takes the Spotlight
Steve Madden is a major corporation that was founded, with an investment of $1,100, in the 1990’s and now it’s a well-known brand selling all across the world. Steve Madden was born on March 2, 1958 in Far Rockaway, Queens. His first shoe design is also known as the “Marylin” which was a simple clog-mule, yet very comfortable and affordable. Ever since the beginning, he already had a vision of selling affordable, comfortable and a variety of shoes.
Over time, Steve Madden started to get recognized for making replicas of other well-known shoe brands, such as Isabel Marant, and with a much affordable price; these clogs were only around $49-$153. Meanwhile, other companies, like Isabel Marant, created their first design and sold them for around $500-$650.
If I see someone wear clothes from Steve Madden, then I know that they have a strong grasp when it comes to fashion. One thing that I can state is that owning shoes from Steve Maddens make my outfits stand out, considering the fact that they literally go with anything. At this time, I own two pairs of Steve Madden shoes. My first pair are black-platform heels with a very smooth texture and a small cushion where the foot goes. These are the Mary Janes. My other pair is the Smith Black Leather which goes very well with my style, one of them being elegant.
The price of Steve Madden shoes are completely different from Isabel Marant. For instance, the Mavis Suede–wedge sneakers–are $159.95 meanwhile the Isabel Marant sells their wedge sneakers for a price of $800-900. That’s around a $740 price difference between the two designer stores.

Isabel Marant ≠ Steve Madden
The brand was founded in 1995, it came to be when 22-year old Isabel Marant launched Twen, her first knitwear and jersey brand, and in 1995 she hosted her first show under her own name. She later on opened a boutique in Paris in 1998. And though it’s a very unique brand, it also has its flaws; one of them being how their prices are overly expensive. To make matters even worse, their shoes are known to be stiff, requiring time to adjust. This brand is also known for its wedge sneakers which are a very athletic style and with a 3 inch (5-7.5) hidden wedge heel.
Nonetheless, Steve Madden and Isabel Marants do have some similarities. One of them being that they are both luxurious shoe brands that share a focus on trend-driven fashion. They also have similar styles when it comes to wedge sneakers and heels. Therefore, any time someone asks you to choose between these two brands, I would like for you to consider which brand has the better prices, better quality, the better appearances, and overall, compatible shoes.
